Briefly "How to save the life of a bouquet?"

Get rid of rotting and drying leaves, paying special attention to cleaning the tip of the stem.

Monitor the air temperature. For example, roses love cool weather, and lily buds open better in warmth.

Trim the stems. This is done with a sharp knife so that the plants absorb moisture better. It is recommended to cut chrysanthemums crosswise, and tulips straight.

Separately, it is worth mentioning baskets with flowers and compositions on bioflora (or floral sponge). You should not remove plants from it, since the cut flower will remain without replenishment and will quickly dry out. In addition, the sponge itself must always remain moist.

After cutting, plants need certain care, which includes daily pruning, regular changes of water, fertilizing, and removal of faded buds and petals.

How to properly care for cut flowers:

  • The stems should extend beyond the vase by at least 25-30 cm.
  • The greenery inside the vase is positioned so that it acts as a support for the rest of the flowers.
  • Large buds should be located at the bottom, and small ones at the top.
  • The shape also plays a role: column-type vases are suitable for tall flowers (amaryllis, roses, lilies), as they hold the stems well, preventing them from breaking. Rectangular containers are suitable for lush bouquets with voluminous buds. A bottle-shaped vase can only hold one flower.
